Lockdown Flowers, 2021
Like many photographers during lockdown I turned to my local natural environment for subject matter. During the spring of 2021, I collected hedgerow flowers on my daily walk, which I photographed and then pressed for six months - around the length of time we were locked down during the Covid second wave in the UK that year. I then re-photographed what remained of the flowers. The pressing had reshaped them, their colours faded, preserved but fragile - a different kind of beauty. Shot on 35mm black and white film and printed on Ilford fibre classic.
