I am a portrait and documentary photographer based in rural Surrey, working primarily with analogue photography. My practice explores themes of home, family, place, and environmental change through photographs of local landscapes and communities. Using traditional photographic processes and sustainable darkroom methods, I create work that reflects on memory, belonging, and our relationship with the natural world. Through personal stories and familiar places, I seek to explore wider social and ecological concerns.

Growing up in Surrey has shaped the way I see and photograph the world. Much of my work is rooted in the places I know best: the landscapes, communities, and everyday moments that often go unnoticed. I am interested in the stories embedded within familiar environments and how these local experiences can reflect wider questions about identity, change, and our connection to the land.

I work mainly with analogue film, using formats from 35mm to large-format 5x4 cameras. For me, the slower pace of film photography encourages a more thoughtful and attentive way of working. It allows time to build relationships, observe subtle changes in a landscape, and create images that are as much about memory and feeling as they are about documentation.

Environmental responsibility is central to my practice. Alongside my photographic work, I run an eco-friendly darkroom in my garden, using sustainable chemistry and low-impact processing methods wherever possible. This commitment extends beyond the subject matter of my photographs and into the way the work is made.

My background spans documentary television, arts journalism, education, and research. These experiences continue to influence my approach to visual storytelling and have strengthened my belief in photography's ability to communicate complex ideas, preserve histories, and foster meaningful conversations about the future.

Whether working on long-term personal projects or collaborative commissions, I aim to create photographs that encourage reflection on the places we inhabit and the relationships we have with one another and the natural world.
